James Fisher ROV technician wins prestigious apprenticeship award
We’re extremely proud to announce that JF Subtech’s ROV technician apprentice, Cameron Field, has been awarded ‘Apprentice / Trainee of the Year’ by the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce business awards.
The prestigious gala evening - held in Lowestoft, UK last Thursday (9 November) - was a night to remember, honouring and celebrating the achievements and contributions of other businesses and individuals from across the region.
About his win, Cameron comments:
I am really thrilled to have won the award, after completing all the assessments and assignments of the course this is the icing on the cake. I would just like to thank all my mentors at James Fisher for the guidance and knowledge they have passed on to me during my apprenticeship.
Cameron began his JF Subtech apprenticeship journey in September 2018, training to become an ROV pilot technician, whilst also attending East Coast College’s EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Mechatronic Maintenance course, which he has now successfully completed.
Putting his knowledge and training to excellent use, Cameron is responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining complex ROV equipment. He has been the model student throughout his training, continuing to impress the entire team daily, as well as being part of many high-profile offshore and onshore projects for a wide range of customers.
Joining Cameron at the presentation evening was equipment manager, Danny Carter, who said:
“To say I am immensely proud of Cameron and his achievement would be an understatement, this award proves the talent and work ethic that has been grown within the team at Lowestoft. Not only is this a huge achievement for Cameron but also for everyone who has played a part in coaching him to be a winning candidate within his category. Well done Cameron, truly well deserved.”
A huge congratulations to all the winners, nominees and to the Suffolk Chamber of Commerce for facilitating such a fantastic event.
